This workshop will give you tangible ways of developing the full potential of your voice and connecting deeply with any text in a way that is authentic and engaging – whether for stage or screen. The participants will gain advanced vocal, text and acting skills which focus on the individuality of each participant.
The workshop will be highly practical and tailored to the priorities of those attending. Participants are asked to prepare one or two short monologues in which they would like to find a deeper connection and authenticity.
Areas that may be covered – depending on the interests of the group – are:
- Vocal Ease
- Vocal Energy
- Vocal Expression
- Vocal Connection
- Vocal Clarity
- Deeper connection to text – making the text truly your own
- Exploring subtext through the body rather the mind
The workshop will be unique to the group attending. At the heart of all the work will be the focus on authenticity, ease and connection. Starting by exploring what each participant wishes to explore and develop, the week will be tailored around these goals aiming not only to meet them, but to surpass these goals. Barbara works with “kind rigour”, creating a safe space in which participants feel comfortable to stretch and challenge themselves.

Barbara has helped me enormously in creating a foundation to which I have returned time and time again when creating a character. She continues to be a huge source of creative inspiration and I feel very lucky that we have worked together. She is one of the very best.
