Video games are the largest and fastest growing sector of the entertainment industry, comprising more revenue than film and music combined. Coupled with the explosion of content created by streaming services such as Netflix, Disney, and Amazon, the demand for international voices in gaming, dubbing and animation is growing daily.
This workshop has two parts:
The first part is online on Zoom. This part covers general information about games, genres, what is different about working in games and how to adapt classical acting techniques for interactive media in a practical way. Trine will lead some group exercises that help you prepare for work in interactive games.
For this part, observers will take active part in most of the work and exercises.
The second part takes place in Iyuno studios in Oslo, while Trine will be coaching via Zoom. This part offers actors hands-on studio experience voicing video game scripts and having your voiceover performances recorded, while working with voiceover director Trine C. Jensen. Trine has worked on some of the most popular video games titles ever and with her direction, actors will learn new ways to deliver resonant voice performances that capture the essence of a variety of video game characters. Come ready to learn, move, and hear yourself as a character from a game you might know. During this part, observers will only observe the work.
Observer Spot
It is possible to participate in this course as an observer. As an observer, you will participate digitally on both days. On Day 1, you will take part in some of the exercises, but please note that some exercises are reserved for participants who will be in the studio on Day 2. On Day 2, you will only observe the work in the studio. The price for an observer spot is NOK 300. Please indicate in the application form whether you are applying as a participant or an observer.
Working language
