Expand your improvisation knowledge, strengthen your skills and learn new techniques with this unique workshop opportunity!

This seven-day workshop focuses on the performer and the performance using Keith Johnstone’s improvisation techniques for acting awareness, character development and dynamic story creation.

You will be taught by two of the finest teachers and experts within the field of improvisation, Patti Stiles and Steen Haakon Hansen.

The workshop is rooted in Keith Johnstone’s philosophy and through using his games, exercises and techniques we bring an understanding of this work to life. You will be introduced to training your spontaneity, impulse, and awareness and how to let the techniques emerge and be used when needed. The purpose of the training is to give your unconsciousness better tools and skills to work with, and to find and create new tools and skills when needed. You will experience that very often a response without words is much stronger than words, inspiration is everywhere and how reactions are narrative motivators.

Patti and Steen have over 70 years of combined experience working with Keith Johnstone. Patti trained with Keith at the groundbreaking Loose Moose Theatre Company in Canada and Steen taught alongside Keith at the Danish Theatre School.

Together they bring their understanding of Keith’s techniques and philosophies mixed with their own vast and varied performance careers to create this unique workshop experience, which will extend the individuals personal performing skills and challenge the concepts of what is understood to be modern-day improvisation and its place on stage.

The workshop will be divided into 2-3 days of intensive training with each Steen and Patti, and approx. 2 days where Steen and Patti will collaborate.

Working language for this workshop is English.
